Enemies. You may have had one … or more (whether you call them by that title or not). If you’re an experienced leader, you have likely had your share. They are those distressing people who hurt you or who won’t stop interfering with your goals, pursuits, or dreams. You know who I mean. But, now that I have been around for a while, some of my former enemies – people who once unfortunately loomed large in my thoughts for a season – have passed away. That’s right … they’ve died. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it, but there’s something healthy about thinking about this … about remembering that all our enemies are merely temporary. They shall pass, as shall we. And, who knows but that in the next life some of them may even become our friends? Wouldn’t it be just like God to do something miraculous like that? And doesn’t that change your perspective?
Matthew 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
